Our take
This is the Circular Quay version of Captain Cook's early dinner, and it is the sailing Sneha Chandra filmed for the timeline on our dinner cruises page. It leaves Wharf 6 on MV Sydney 2000 for about two hours, with a three-course dinner or a four-course premium version that includes lamb shoulder. Sneha Chandra's 2025 sailing ran 5:30pm to 7:30pm, waited about 15 minutes at Darling Harbour before turning back, and seated guests at tables allocated by booking date. It rates around 4.4.
Drinks are extra and ordered at the table. On their Captain Cook dinner, Tash and Brad found casual clothes were fine, though the listing asks for smart casual, and rated the meal a solid eight while saying it was worth doing once. Both travellers sailed under cloud and saw no sunset, so do not count on one. The boat is wheelchair accessible and has a children's menu. Check in at the Wharf 6 ticket office 30 minutes before departure, and tell them about dietary needs when you book.
