Who publishes the site
SydneySide Tours is published by ScalePact, a marketing firm for tour operators led by Hamza Liaqat.
That background shapes the site. ScalePact works with operators, not as one, on how they reach travellers through search, ads and follow-up. That means working every day with the questions travellers ask before they book. SydneySide Tours answers those questions for Sydney, for the person booking rather than the business selling.
Appearing on this site doesn’t make an operator a ScalePact client, and being a client doesn’t put a tour on this site. If that ever changes for a tour on the site, the tour’s page will say so in the sentence next to it.
What the site does
Each page covers one kind of trip and answers the questions people ask before booking it. Where does the boat leave from? How long is the walk, really? What’s included, and what costs extra on the day?
The tours on each page come from Viator, filtered and ordered by a set of public rules. The site lists tours from Viator and explains how tours are chosen on its own page, including the review floor, the rating floor and how often listings are rechecked.
Alongside the tours, each page carries the practical side: a timed run of the day, the meeting point and how to get there, what to bring, and when in the year the trip is worth doing. Much of that detail comes from travellers who filmed their own trip, credited by name.
The guides do a different job. They cover things to do in an area, free ones included, and point to a tour only where a tour genuinely adds something.
The site starts close to the city. The first pages cover whale watching off the harbour, snorkelling and surf lessons on the beaches, walking and pub tours around The Rocks, and day trips and guided hikes in the Blue Mountains, two hours west by road. Harbour cruises and Port Stephens follow, then the South Coast and Canberra. A region gets pages only when there are enough reviewed tours to compare.
Prices and dates load live from Viator on each card. If you’re unsure what happens after you click, the booking help page walks through it step by step.
What the site does not do
It’s easier to trust a site that says where it stops.
- We don’t run tours, own boats or employ guides.
- We don’t take bookings or payments. Viator does, and the operator runs the trip.
- We can’t change, cancel or refund a booking. Viator’s customer service and the operator handle that.
- We don’t sell transfers, hotels or flights.
- We don’t cover every tour sold in Sydney. Ticket-only entries like zoo and aquarium tickets, airport transfers and ocean cruise holidays are left out on purpose, because the official sellers serve those better.
If you’ve booked a trip and something has gone wrong on the day, the operator’s phone number on your Viator voucher is the fastest route. We’ll still read your email, but we can’t fix a booking.
How the site is paid
The site is paid through Viator’s affiliate program, on bookings made after clicking through from our pages. How we write pages and how the site earns money is set out in our editorial policy, including what we don’t accept from operators.
How to reach us
Email hello@sydneysidetours.com. We reply within 3 business days.
Write to us about a mistake on a page, a tour you think we’ve missed, or a question about how the site works. For anything about a booking you’ve already made, contact Viator or the operator first, because only they can change it. The contact page has the full list of who to ask about what.
