Our take
This is our pick on the Sydney city tours page for people who have already done a short city tour, and it has the highest rating of any city tour we compare, close to 5. It runs about six hours with a driver-guide, and it walks as well as drives: across the Harbour Bridge on the pedestrian path, and a 30-minute section of the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk that the shorter tours skip.
The route takes in Observatory Hill, The Rocks, Kirribilli, Milsons Point, Mrs Macquarie's Point, Watsons Bay, The Gap and Bondi. The group tour meets at 9am at the Novotel Darling Square or 9:15am at the Marriott at Circular Quay, and reviewers describe groups of four to eight. Private bookings collect from your hotel. Bottled water is included, but lunch is not, so budget for it. The group option is not suitable for children under 8, as it carries no child restraints.
Good for
- A full day that mixes driving and walking
- Couples and small groups who want a guide's time
Think twice if
- You have only a morning
- Children under 8, unless you book private
