Our take
This is our pick on the Sydney city tours page if you only do one city tour. Ten guests at most in a mini coach, an 8:30am start from the back entrance of the Four Seasons on Harrington Street in The Rocks, and real time at the stops rather than window views. It rates close to 4.9 and finishes in about four hours, leaving the afternoon free.
The stops show the difference from the big coaches: 30 minutes in The Rocks, 20 under the Harbour Bridge, a 25-minute foreshore walk to Mrs Macquarie's Chair, which the 50-seat coaches give 5 to 20 minutes, a 25-minute walk on the coastal path at The Gap and Watsons Bay, and 20 minutes at Bondi. On the way back you pass through Paddington, Darlinghurst and the city. Listening devices are available if you need one. The walks are short and relaxed, but wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat or jacket for the weather.
