Our take

This is the lunch cruise for people who want to eat ashore as well as see the harbour, and on our lunch cruises page it is the only progressive lunch. You board the Ocean Blue at the Eastern Pontoon at Circular Quay just before 11am. The entree is at Doyles at Watsons Bay, the main course at the Public Dining Room on Balmoral Beach, and dessert on board as you cruise up to the Spit Bridge. It runs about 4.5 hours.

An open bar and a glass of sparkling wine are included, with 14 guests at most. It is the dearest lunch we compare, several times a big dining boat, and it rates close to 5 but from only about 20 reviews. The listing says the child rate applies only when sharing with two paying adults, infant meals are not included, and there are no hotel pickups. It refunds in full up to 24 hours before.

Good for

  • A long celebration lunch with drinks included
  • Couples and small groups who want harbour restaurants, not a buffet

Think twice if

  • You are on a budget
  • Families with young children. Child rates are limited
