Our take
This is the lunch version of our favourite dinner cruise, and on our lunch cruises page it is one of the few big boats with drinks in the fare. Lunch is à la carte, built on New South Wales produce such as Hawkesbury seafood and Riverina lamb, with beer, sommelier-picked wines, soft drinks and coffee included. It runs about 2 hours on a modern 78 ft boat for 80 at most, and rates around 4.8.
The main catch is that it is non-refundable, so book once your dates are fixed. It leaves from King Street Wharf 8 in Darling Harbour, in front of Cargo Bar, where several boats share the wharf; look for the Journey Beyond logo. The boat is wheelchair accessible and prams are fine. Compared with Captain Cook's lunch, it costs more on the card, but the gap closes once you add two drinks.

Enjoy 360-degree views of the iconic attractions as we sail past. We think lunch should be a long, lavish affair, so we serve generous al la carte meals inspired by locally sourced, regionally inspired delights. Think local seafood from the Hawkesbury, lamb from lush pastures in the Riverina and beef sourced from the upper Hunter Valley. We pair these with a selection of beers, wines, soft drinks and tea or coffee. Our wines have been hand selected by our sommelier from some of the finest wine regions in New South Wales, so wine lovers are in for a real treat!
After lunch we head back past Taronga Zoo and Luna Park before arriving back into Darling Harbour.
