Our take
This is our pick on the lunch cruises page for a single lunch on the harbour. It leaves the Eastern Pontoon at Circular Quay at 12pm and returns about 2 hours 15 minutes later. A buffet with vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options, tea and coffee, cake and live commentary are included. It is the most reviewed lunch cruise we compare.
It also refunds in full up to 24 hours before, which several lunch cruises do not. The boat takes up to 80, smaller than Captain Cook's dining boats. Drinks other than tea and coffee are not listed, so plan on buying them or going without. The pontoon is shared with the jet boats on the Opera House side of the quay; arrive 15 minutes early. If you want more time on the water and fewer people, the small yachts run twice as long, but at several times the price.
Good for
- A first harbour view with a proper meal and commentary
- Mixed diets. The buffet covers most needs
Think twice if
- You want drinks in the price. Journey Beyond's lunch includes them
- You want a quieter, smaller boat
