Our take
Sunset and Sparkle is one of the two sunset catamarans on our harbour cruises page. It leaves Man O'War Steps, between the Opera House and the Botanic Garden, for an hour on a 10.5 m catamaran with 26 people at most. A grazing platter and one soft drink or water are included, and you can bring your own alcohol with no corkage. It rates around 4.7.
The listing is clear about two things, and so are we. There is no guided commentary; the skipper drives. And a sunset cannot be guaranteed. Two travellers we watched on harbour dinner cruises both sailed under cloud and saw no sunset, so keep a second evening free if the sunset is the point. Departure times move with the month and shift when daylight saving starts and ends in April and October, so go by your confirmation. Arrive 15 to 20 minutes early.
