Our take
This is a first taste of scuba, not snorkelling, and we list it on our snorkelling in Sydney page for anyone who wants to go deeper. It takes about half a day. You meet at the dive shop to get fitted for equipment and do the paperwork, travel to the dive site with the shop, get a briefing on breathing and hand signals, then dive with a professional instructor. Groups are 4 at most.
Scuba gear, a wetsuit, transport from the shop and rinsing facilities are included; bring your own swimwear. You must be able to swim. The minimum age is 12, with a parent's consent for under 18s. The listing gives no meeting address, so the shop's location will be on your confirmation. Two cautions: it is non-refundable, and it rates around 4.6 from about 20 reviews, a small record. It is not recommended for anyone pregnant or with spinal or heart problems.

Scuba diving is much easier than you think and the Try Scuba Diving Experience will prepare you to participate in this new sport that awaits you. Dive into a whole new world!
The Try Scuba Diving Experience takes approximately half a day. We meet all participants at our store so we can fit you out with proper scuba equipment and go over paperwork. Once at the dive site you will receive a brief overview explaining whats going to happen during your dive, the equipment you will be using, how to breathe underwater, appropriate underwater hand signals, some basic knowledge about scuba diving and the rules that need to be followed for your safety during the dive.
When you first get in the water, we will run through some very important water skills and get you comfortable before descending down for your dive. The dive itself will last around 30-60 minutes and you will reach a maximum depth of 5 meters. Your experienced dive instructor will show you the magic of the underwater world.
