Our take
Sandboarding is the half of a Port Stephens day that travellers talk about most, and you do not need a cruise or a coach tour to do it. This trip runs from Anna Bay: a custom off-road vehicle takes you on a short, bouncy ride into the Stockton dunes in the Worimi Conservation Lands, you get a board and a quick lesson, and then you slide as often as your legs allow. National park fees are included.
All three travellers we watched on the dunes said the same thing: the ride down is fast and the climb back up is the hard part. One called it an absolute nightmare. It suits older children who can manage the climb themselves. Check your voucher for the meeting point, as the listing gives both Gan Gan Road and the lower car park on James Paterson Street in Anna Bay. One of the most unique activities in Australia, Sandboarding. The thrill of sliding down a 40-50 mtr high dune in the amazing Worimi Conservation Lands Birubi Beach, is one you will never forget. Meet our expert team in the Lower Car Park James Paterson St Anna Bay just look out for the Green and Black Trailer this is where the tour begins & you will board one of our custom built off road vehicles to start you adventure on the short, bouncy ride into the largest moving sand mass in the southern hemisphere.
Climb to the top of the dunes, jump on your board, slide on down & repeat! Your ticket includes the shuttle bus, equipment and unlimited sandboarding (or unlimited fun!)You can stay & play as long as you like. For most people that’s about 1 to 1.5hours.
When your done just jump back aboard our 4WD buses to be taken back to the starting point.
