Our take
This is the second small bars tour on our Sydney pub crawl page, from the same operator as the Secret Bars tour. Over about 3 hours a host takes 12 people at most to three small bars and points out murals by well-known Australian street artists. On Wednesdays it runs in Newtown and along Enmore Road from the I Have A Dream mural on King Street; on Saturdays it covers Chippendale and Redfern from the Old Clare Hotel, ending near Redfern station.
Only the first drink, a beer or wine, is included, and the operator tells you to budget at least A$40 more each. The listing welcomes non-drinkers and says the route is wheelchair accessible. It holds a perfect 5 from a small record so far. Because the meeting point depends on the night, read your voucher: on Saturdays it is the Kensington Street side of the Old Clare, not Broadway. It is 18 and over.
Good for
- Street art and small bars outside the city centre
- Solo travellers and couples on a Wednesday or Saturday
Think twice if
- You want drinks in the price. The Rocks pub walks include four
- You want the harbour and old pubs
