Our take
This is the budget late start on our Blue Mountains tours page. It leaves Mercure Central on George Street at 10am in winter and 12pm in summer, so you can sleep in and miss the peak-hour traffic, then spends the afternoon and sunset in the mountains with a chance of wild kangaroos. It costs well under the small-group late starts, but carries up to 27 in a mini coach.
Expect walking. The listing describes guided bushwalks of about 2 to 4 km, including the steep stairs at Wentworth Falls, plus Echo Point and Katoomba. It is not suitable for children under 6, and asks for moderate fitness. Food and drinks are not included, apart from what you buy on stops in Glenbrook or Leura. It rates around 4.5, lower than the smaller late-start tours. You get back to Sydney after dark, and late in summer.
Good for
- A late start and sunset at a lower price
- Walkers who are fine with steep stairs
Think twice if
- You want a small group. The 10 or 11 person late starts cost more but feel different
- Children under 6
