Our take
AEA's deluxe day is the Blue Mountains for people who would rather avoid the crowds and the coach bays. Groups are guaranteed small, 14 at most in a Mercedes minibus with leather seats, and it collects from selected hotels. On our Blue Mountains tours page it is the lookouts and gardens option, visiting viewpoints away from the busy ones as well as the Three Sisters.
The animal stop is Calmsley Hill City Farm, Sydney's oldest working farm, with morning tea, so expect farm animals, not kangaroos in the wild or a zoo. Lunch is a two-course meal with a soft drink only if you book the lunch option. There is no Scenic World. It is among the dearest group days we compare, and what the price buys is control: a small group gets through lookouts faster and fits narrower paths. The tour, stop by stop
- Visit Sydney's oldest working farm with animal encounters & morning tea/coffee. Meet our most famous animals, including the koala, wombat, emu, kangaroo and many more. get up close with the animals for photos and feeding. Many other farm animals throughout the property. About 60 min.
- Arriving into the Blue Mountains National Park, we visit a selection of lookouts away from the large crowds. Our small luxury buses have the advantage of visiting the best locations of the canyons, valleys, and unusual rock formations. Some locations have options for short walks. About 120 min.
- Visit one of the best vantage points of the most famous rock formation, the Three Sisters, where only the small tour buses can access. Hear about the legend of the rock formation and the aboriginal story of why we call them this. About 15 min.
- If selecting the lunch option, lunch is a two course meal with 1 non alcoholic beverage, with a view over the Megalong Valley. lunch menu changes with the seasonal availability of food. A selection of options catering to most diets. If selecting the no lunch option, there is a small cafe where you can purchase food at your own expense. About 60 min.
- Visit one of the most captivating lookouts in the region, with a waterfall dropping a staggering 180 meters to the valley beneath. About 20 min.
